Why am I a fan? Omg there is so many layers. The Maybe Man album is probably the best example? The Maybe Man character feels like it’s describing me. I’ve recently felt like I don’t know who I am, I am so different around different people, to the point where I don’t know if there is a real me. But, there is. And the real me is every single of of “me”. Maybe I am a stone, or big as my house. I shouldn’t go around waiting for 60 years, or till I am 85. I’ll just be everything. Maybe that’s who the hell I am.
OK Orchestra, that one also helped a lot, OK Overture is some of their best works yet. I’m still very young to feel so old, but I”ll try and I’ll try and I’ll try. But I’m not dead yet, so I guess I’ll feel alright (or ok hehe).
I’m just go ramble about songs I like. The songs Touchy Feely Fool, The Good Part and Karma might just be the most relatable songs ever. Hell, the former’s music video is probably the best music video I’ve seen. I mean it. I’ve been through so many tiny mistakes, and since they don’t really matter, I should forget them. But I do. Why can’t we skip to the good part? My Mom, Dad and Brother have a good life, but what the hell am I gonna do with mine? I’ve been trying so hard, but it’s still getting harder. The universe works in mysterious ways, but I’m starting to think it ain’t working for me. Should I be good this year?

holy yappington, i got way too carried away with this lol – Kilbylol #338

The reason I love AJR is the fact that their songs are so relatable, anyone can relate to that song or this one, and that’s amazing. Also the songs are BANGERS like omg I don’t listen to that much music but everything in the songs is very cool. I typically fell in love with 2085 and Maybe Man, that are the songs that make me a fan. I listened to the whole album, and that was a delightful moment, I couldn’t stop crying after that. Everything resonated with me and I needed something like that in my life. Thanks for that ❤️ – GoldGalaxy__ #197

They have saved my life countless times. These brothers have gotten me through everything, from being suicidal during covid to being a moody dramatic middle schooler to now. They have given me so many good days, going to their concerts and even getting to meet them. – #281

AJR is who I can see myself growing up to be. – @Sammanderk #259

Netflix trip got me hooked and then karma got me through my first year of college with lockdowns and assignment weeks when you haven’t been to school for any lessons (again lockdown) that was such a hard time and got through it all cause of AJR. – @100BadIdeas #245

I love how they put an effort to show how much they care for the audience how they put their heart and soul into each performance. – AnAverageJoe0102 #331

The way AJR writes lyrics of something hitting personal and close to home, and create music with those lyrics over it that (to me) make it seem like the rest of the world is ignore the meaning of the lyrics… Just the amazing minds behind the lyrics and the music is what makes me a fan! – melissal.willems #171

AJR got me through my parents divorce and I owe all my happiness to them, love you guys ❤️ – @Darth_Nur #061

It’s so hard to actually put this into words but I’ll try my best, I’m a fan of these guys for the way that they write music, their lyrics makes me feel seen, they make my feelings seem validated but also with a funny and theatrical twist. I’m an AJR fan because they put their hearts and soul on their concerts, you can see it because of its amazing production, because of how they make every song translate in a special way during their live performances and even though they sell out arenas now (!!!!) they still take the time to connect with fans, to play dodgeball and do m&g with us and moments like this means the world to me and many other fans too. – @Goldplatzman #299

What makes me a fan of AJR is that their music is so relatable. The production and some of the weird sounds are stuff I haven’t heard in music before. They’re very different and that’s what I love about them. – @mike_mcminn2005 #248

AJR’s genuity is what makes me a fan of them. From my first concert ever in 2014, that is what made me love them so much. They didn’t care how many fans were there, they were just so happy to be performing for people and having a great time doing so. For the last ten years I’ve seen them grow into these amazing human beings while also getting see their successful musical journey along the way. I’m glad AJR have finally found their ‘website’ full of people who finally see the world the way they do. ^_^ – @FanofAJR #300

Their intention with their music, the mix of musical theory with modified lyrics and rythem. The tones. The raw relatability. I come from a very musical family and as a youngest of three and a musical theater visionary, the brothers music speaks to my heart in the deepest point of raw relatability. – Kat_Glamsoul #213

AJR makes me feel less alone in my struggles and fear of growing up. Their music is like a warm hug when I need it most and a reminder that everything will work out for the better. – @antiheroine_13 #034

All of the music has some sort of meaning behind each song. The song The DJ is Crying For Help makes me such a huge fan being I’m able to connect with it on a deep mental level. No other artist for me has been able to make music the way they do that I can connect to. What they do is truly incredible. – hannahpfankuch #228

I am a fan of AJR because of how unique they are. They are not afraid to express themselves through their music, no matter how “different” it sounds. They have a real love and passion for music and are very genuine people. Listening to their albums is an emotional rollercoaster in the best way possible. Not only are they so genuine and real, but the production is so detailed and special. Watching how Ryan produces the songs makes you appreciate the music even more. AJR is very special to me and no one could replicate what they do. – RaynieRamirez09 #306

They’ve made such a HUGE impact on my life. It seems like there’s always a song you can personally relate to at any point or part of your life. For example, the song “The DJ is Crying for Help” came out on my birthday and it seemed to describe that point in my life almost exactly. The honesty and relatability in their songwriting have helped me navigate my own struggles, providing a sense of understanding and solidarity. It’s like they articulate feelings I sometimes can’t express myself, making me feel less alone.
I could go on and on about what makes me a fan or how they’ve made an impact on my life, but I feel like the rest I can’t put into words.
In summary, at best, AJR has impacted my life by providing a source of comfort, inspiration, and motivation. – @TheCosmicRebel #273

Good music makes ears happy 👍 Alright I’ll give a little more than that.
AJR makes songs with really interesting and unique concepts and great executions of those concepts. Their music is really unique and open which makes it enjoyable to listen too. – winniedog40 #208

The impact of AJR on my life is really huge because they changed me completely! Literally, they make me feel more confident and also make me a more extroverted person! I know that the next thing I say might sound really random, but they helped me improve my English! Seriously, before I discovered them, my English was TERRIBLE. – @Sandris148 #289

AJR makes me feel seen and heard. In a world where so many artists write about the same things (relationships, parties, etc.), AJR writes about life as it is. They speak to people like me who struggle with identity and anxiety and feeling behind in a world that never stops. I’ve quite honestly never related more to lyrics. They are also so down to earth. When you meet AJR you feel like you’ve met up with a friend you’ve known forever. They are so kind and genuine. – @showsinbelarus #242

Their songs just get better and better, and each concert I go to reminds me how much they’ve helped me throughout highschool and college. – @HoodierObsessed #179

I love their music because of how relatable it is, and it’s helped me through the toughest times. – August #178

As a kid, I would often feel dissociated from society and others, but AJR was a way for me to reconnect with myself and others. Their lyrics helped me through middle school and high school, and I was able to head out into the world understanding more of myself and those around me because of them. – @j2jlopez #074

I am inspired by their creativity. As a Creative myself, I can connect with AJR by the way they expand their horizons in their music and creative visions (from their music videos to their stage productions). What makes their music and their creations/live art so special is their heart. Whether if it their songs (that pulls your heart strings and ignites your mind) or there unqiue and mindblowing presentations (flying on stage, making shadows come to live, real-life giants), it takes the heart with teamwork/a community that connect with us fans (and those who need a lift in their lives). AJR’s heART makes their ART meaningful! – @raphaconrad #309

AJR is a wonderful band, but they are also wonderful people. They make songs about very meaningful things to me, and they have helped me better my life. It’s also very nice to see how much they care about their fans, from when they were just starting out all the way to now. Their songs are not only high quality and just generally amazing to listen to, but convey generally hard-to-understand feelings in an incredible way. – @espressowrite #035

What makes me a fan of AJR? Honestly a lot. A few years ago I was in a really rough place in my life, and I didn’t know where it was going to go. I had no clue what I was going to do, I had just experienced a significant loss in my life, and I was just at an all time low. One day, when searching for something to listen to, I stumbled across AJR. I had never heard of them before, but the song I did hear inspired me to keep going and to keep pushing on. I have always struggled with anxiety and depression, but listening to their music helped and continues to help me so much. I just love all of their songs, and I can’t wait to hear any new music that is released! I went to my first AJR concert last summer in Newport, KY and I get to experience a VIP experience this July in Nashville, TN. I truly can’t wait, and I just want the guys to know that they are so loved by their fans! – gabbycook45 #177

When I discovered AJR I was in a state of depression and when I discovered their music it made me realise that the world wasn’t as dark as I believed. – @Darth_Nur #301

There music mean the world to me and I love there music so much. – @Theresadeonari #319

I love the way they make me feel understood. They remind me of a modern version of the 80s band, Queen. Their uniqueness and raw talent blows me away every time. – leiana.a.mesa219 #202

I love how they write their music! The fact that they had written it in their living room is so cool to me. Plus, the fact that they often add easter eggs have so many ways of making the sounds (ex: gang vocals, having their neighbor in the dumb song, etc) is so unique! I also love how relatable many of their songs can be. – @asbestosalad #080

AJR’s songs are all different. It’s pretty ADHD friendly. The songs don’t sound alike to the point that it’s hard for non-listeners to tell them apart. Different instruments, different beats, different productions. Then the lyrics are about genuine human emotions and situations that everyone goes through. They’re about personal struggles and not bragging about riches and women or whatever. – bananahotcocoa #308

I’ve been listening to AJR since I believe in 2016 but I listened to more of their music in 2022-2023 and it’s just impacted my life a bunch! I love the way they make their music! I love hearing all the other instruments and I felt more understood. – Destiny #351

I love just how relatable everything is and how it conveniently made me Way Less Sad! But it has also helped me get through hard times and has just been a staple of something I can come to, to be happy, sad, or even for whatever! I LOVE AJR!!!! – @BlegoYT #310

AJR has been with me through many milestones in life. “Neotheater” helped me transition to college, “Ok Orchestra” got me through the pandemic and to college graduation, and “The Maybe Man” motivates me as I recover from an unexpected health condition. – @destined4disney #205

Their music has made me feel less alone, and their concerts made me realize that i don’t need to be afraid to be myself. watching them dance on stage like nothing in the world matters, made me realize i can do that too. – @betteroffastone #269

Evet since since I was a fan in 2017 I’ve made so many good friends because of them and they have stuck with me till now. – @anthony_holo96 #266

When ‘My Play’ was released in December 2020, my parents were just going through their divorce, and it hit me really hard, but I didn’t want to talk with them about it to avoid making them more stressed. The song really described what I was feeling at the moment, and it was very special to me because of the timing (lol), and because I saw it during the YouTube premiere. That’s what really made me feel connected to them.
I just love them so much because they seem like such nice people. Their interviews and music were with me through all the lockdown while my parents weren’t. I just really adore their music style because it’s like they’re completely their own genre. I saw them for the first time on May 1st in San Diego, and it was truly the best night of my life; no show can compare to theirs. – @AJandyy #041

I heart AJR music so much 💕I totally feel like many of the songs were wrote to and for me! So relatable! – danelife88 #180

I always liked the indie pop/pop music genre. That and the fact that Adam, Jack, and Ryan use some out of the ordinary ways to make music (e.g. They took a song from SpongeBob SquarePants and used it for the song I’m Ready). – theoneandonlykingmax #170

I don’t know who I am. That’s my big problem. I strive for perfection and seek approval. But after knowing that other people (AJR) have the same insecurities as me and are so open about it I was able to know who I am. @danydotc_ #354

I love how their songs have so much relatability to me. Especially the turning out trilogy and karma. The lyrics in all of their songs are just so real and unique which I really love. The first time I listened to Karma I actually said “This relates to me??” And I was hooked. – Superhawkes (@rootbeerboi4) #236

I love AJR’s music. I love how they make unique sounds and turn it into music. I love how they’re authentically themselves, and truly care about their fans. On the OKO tour, Adam gave my dad and I a water bottle while we were in line because it was hot outside. Our favorite memory of AJR. @socksonthemoon #353

I love the use of instruments and how they are layered into the production. I am a music education major and plan on creating a marching band show designed around their music. – Grace_r_hi #173

I really liked how the choice of words was placed in each songs , showing that they connect with the audience and knowing that not everyone has the fahnce of finding their true self or what they are meant to do. – @totally._tarniaz #185

I love the music that AJR produces. Their music is so nice to listen to and I love that there is variety in their music. My favorite songs are ‘Yes I’m Mess’ and ‘Steve’s Going To London’ I love the vibes of these songs and I love to listen to them in the car and sing along. @Deanie_Sophea #144

What makes me a fan are the lyrics, messages in the lyrics, and the convictions in which they are sung. The guys are just good people and I like to support that. – Littlecampbell4 #116

I just love their voice, what their songs are about, and I relate a lot. They helped me through some hard times. – Annika #014

I love how personal and straightforward they are. They make mostly subjective music compared to topical. I also love all of the layers, like what they use sound-wise to get the right sound! I made a children’s book about AJR with how they make music for a college project. – Brook #009

I struggle with chronic depression and anxiety, to the point where I had to drop out of school. I’ve been at my lowest for some time now, but listening to their music and stories helps me hold on. I’ve been able to see them live twice, which have been the best days of my life. I would not have been able to get through my dark periods without them. I’ve been able to share my love of them with my mother and sister which has helped me grow closer to them. Words cannot express how grateful I am for them. – @woomymczoomy #293

What makes me a fan of AJR is the way they make me feel less alone. Before I found AJR, I often felt lonely or like no one could understand the way I felt. Then I started listening to AJR, and their music made me feel like there were people out there who felt like me, and it helped me a lot. I was in a rough spot mentally when I found AJR, and now I feel so much better, and I credit AJR for helping me find others who make me feel like I’m not alone anymore. – @theresnothinglikeaduck #124

My favourite AJR song is Humpty Dumpty, because it resonates so strongly with me – putting on a brave face to others even if you’re not okay inside. – @sammmm249 #218

Ever since giving World’s Smallest Violin a full listen thanks to some random Undertale animation, I just felt immediately immersed; needing to give every other song a listen. And once I had listened to every song, I just knew this was, and still is, my favorite band.

I don’t know where to even start with how much I just loved everything. From the meaning, the lyrics, the instrumentals; I can’t further exaggerate how much it means to me to be able to enjoy listening to their music every single day. – Ruby #328

Honestly just a fan. I love your stuff so much after hearing my first song when I was young. Recently my dad played the song back and just fell in love with your music. The vibe, the beats… just everything is so good! I’d love to see you guys live one day! (Come back to NZ please!!) Just keep doing what your doing and enjoy yourselves doing it! Mikayla #368

“The Good Part” was the song that showed me how music could make people feel. I had never felt that way before, and that lightness and wonder still overtakes me every time I hear a song that explains something I can’t put into words. I pursued a career in music because of that feeling, and Ryan’s production continues to inspire me to keep asking “why not?” with my own music. – @thriftshopbops #219

AJR plays with and expands the boundaries I thought I knew about music. From their unique sounds to breathtaking shows, listening to their music is always an adventure. There’s so many songs that talk about the world in ways I think about but can’t put into words – Birthday Party, Dear Winter, and Christmas in June are some examples of that. I remember my aunt asked me why they were my favorite artist “instead of someone like Taylor Swift.” Nobody is doing or has done what AJR is doing musically, lyrically, and live… that’s what I love about AJR. – @mr_ot5 #090

What makes me a fan of AJR is the dedication they put into everything they do! I appreciate that AJR always strives to make every one of their experiences feel special, despite their growing fame! When I saw AJR in concert for the first time on The Maybe Man tour, I felt like I was in a different world; a world where there was no judgement, a world where I could be myself and not care! For the first time, I felt free to be myself and I will forever honor AJR for creating a space where I could truly be me! – @PNDA_Music #076

Every AJR song I hear makes my brain happy. I can feel the emotion in every song and it makes me feel my own emotions so much clearer. Sometimes my moods change how I listen to a song and I love every different version. I can feel parts of myself in the songs and it makes me so happy that I can express what I don’t know I’m feeling with someone else’s words that just fit so perfectly. I can listen and feel everything in the music or simply enjoy the sounds and let myself dissolve into it. – Makena Oglesby #188

AJR captures emotions I’m not even able to describe (and I’m an author!!). They’ve always released albums during some of the most difficult or change-heavy times of my life. I have no idea how they manage to know when an album is needed for someone, but they have never failed me in releasing music right when I need it most. The song “Weak” made me a fan, but “Sober Up” made me a super fan. Both of these songs are so unique sounding, especially at the time I found them; I hadn’t really heard a whole lot of violin in pop music at that point! – @tsnooder #067

What made me a fan was their creativity in their music and I love how they’re able to write about unusual topics without shame. – Kennedygirl28 #085

AJR had helped me in a really tough time when I was trying to figure out who I was. I had known the song weak for so many years, 100 bad days for a few, and randomly I thought about those songs. I started getting invested and found out who I was. Their music saved me in so many ways. Thank you Adam, Jack, and Ryan. I can’t wait to see what you do next. – jacob.whitworth09 #214

You guys are weird in the best way possible. And make every other weirdo feel happy and seen with all of your music and antics. Every song is a story and a show made in minutes, something so unique and powerful to you guys alone. You all are, in simple worlds, the coolest weirdos I’ve had the pleasure of finding in the world 🙂 – @info_noted #099

For me what makes me a fan is the sounds of the songs and the lyrics of the songs, i’m from Spain but I have the luck of having a good level of english and thanks to that and their songs they’ve helped me a lot this summer because it was a really hard time, but thanks to them and their songs they’ve helped me a lot to be happy again. – @Aleitor09 #089

What makes me a fan of AJR is their music, specifically their song ‘I’m Ready.’ It was the first song I ever heard from them, and I’m so glad I found them 🙂 – @smplystressed #042

The first song I started listening to was it’s on us, then I listened to the first 3 albums and after that as each new album came out I just got more and more obsessed with their music. – @georgie_kelly7 #159

It’s so easy to love AJR. I’ve watched them & their careers blow up [in all the cities ;]] and I can’t help feel like a proud big sister. They are some of the kindest, most creative, & most captivating people I’ve ever known and I can’t wait to support them for infinity more years. – @Loveee09 #252

One of the things I love the most about them is that they’ve allowed me to change my perspective on growing up as someone who has always been an artist— that being no matter how old I get i’m always going to see the world in a different way. and getting older doesn’t mean i have to forget about it or ignore it, but instead embrace it and share it and learn new and more skilled ways to remedy that through my art. – @cheyandthestars #262

Without AJR, the hardest moments in my life would have never gotten easier. AJR has made me feel understood and not alone anymore. My days where I felt down started to become more infrequent when I found AJR’s music. It changed me for the better and has helped me more than my therapist (I still love her though!). I will never be able to express my full gratitude to the brothers, but this is the start🫶 – @imwaylesssad #263

I love how down to earth you guys are and how it’s always a suprise in what creative way you share your music with us on the records and especially live!! It’s just so so much fun to support you and we get the most special and enjoyable music out of it! couldn’t imagine my life without it after all these years!!! – aadoremendess #304

I love how AJR makes song that sound original, with amazing instruments, and lyrics that make you feel something. – lizzie_ochoaa #142

Their music comforts me. I’ve always loved music, and all the layers they have that I can just pick apart tickles my brain lol. I think it’s also super awesome being able to see them grow as a band. – aly_larson_ #015

Hearing your music always lifted my spirits. It felt like I was a weird person who found my group of weird people. The quirky music and lively vibe of it all just made me feel so good about myself. @legacy.st #355

I fell in love with the song “Karma.” I feel it in every fiber of my soul. It’s the fact that life goes on, but you can still feel hopeful even when things end up all crazy and anxiety-driven. It’s also a band I send to my brother so he can get some good messaging. His favorite is probably “The Dumb Song” off of The Maybe Man. – @Shad0w1017 #055

The first time I heard Weak I was nine then years past Bang! came out I instantly became a stan of the brothers. – @NeoClickOk #107

You guys songs are just so relatable to me your songs are the reason I got through middle school, Thank you, AJR you make my days Better with your songs. – Manny Charles #313

The catchiness of their songs is what initially grabbed my attention, but then learning the lyrics and seeing how brilliantly crafted their songs are hooked me forever. They have such a unique approach to songwriting, and it’s unlike anything other artists have done. They write about their own experiences in the most raw form, yet somehow I feel like each song was taken from my brain on how I feel. They put into words the feelings I’ve never known how to describe. I don’t know them personally, but I feel so connected to them and what we’ve all been through. On top of all that deep stuff, they’re just very humble, cool dudes, lol. I’ve met them 3 times, and they just get nicer and nicer each time. They genuinely care about their fans, and it shows. – @nadiloo219 #045

What makes me a fan is the fact that I relate soooo much to their music. Without it I would not be here and it helped me through a depressive and suicidal time in my life. I can’t wait to see what they have in store and I love the way y’all can make me feel like myself. – @cooplikeswaffles #114

I love AJR because they make their music something everyone, or most people, can relate to. – Emily #017

AJR has saved my life so many times, when I went through the lowest point in my life, one morning I had stayed home from school and was planning to unalive myself, I remember picking up the medicine bottle but just as I did Karma started playing. That song, hell, the whole album saved my life and for that, I’m eternally grateful. <3 – @Blissscripts #068

3 O’Clock Things has been on repeat since I first heard it. It’s so special. The lyrics, melody, and instrumental are all nothing short of perfect. They have such a unique style. It’s definitely not for everyone. But if you get it, you get it. – @MaybeYouFeelMe #059

They combine amazing music with amazing lyrics that have amazing meaning. Talent upon talent that’s been such a gift to me. – @est_griffin175 #073

I love their style in general–their music, their shows–all of it. When I see their shows, I’m always left in awe. They make me laugh, and they put so much effort into what they do. – theyluv._tessa #148

I love how their songs are always so relatable, and can be uplifting. For example, whenever I’m in a bad mood, I listen to ‘Way Less Sad’, and it does indeed make me feel way less sad. – @anthony.dlo #133

AJR was probably exactly what needed as I nervous, self conscious, scared, 13 year old who didn’t know how to be or connect with others. AJR definitely played a role in me accepting myself after a long time of just hating myself. Knowing there were people out there that understood what I felt when I didn’t even know. OK Orchestra was the highlight of 2020 for me when it felt it like I was constantly disappointing everyone around me. AJR grew to be my comfort band and influences my taste in music till this day, it’s kinda wild how their music is so nostalgic for me yet so new. I’d like to talk about this one song I found back when I was still new to AJR, “It’s On Us”. As someone who went through sexual abuse, this song hit me like truck when I first heard it. I don’t think AJR will ever understand how much this song helped me as a kid who never talked to anyone about it because I was too scared to get hurt again. This song makes me emotional every time and has helped me find who I want be despite everything that was taken from me. It was another instance of AJR giving me exactly what I needed at the time. I will always be grateful for AJR being a part of my life. – xr_owo #271

I’m a fan of AJR because of inertia. I heard the chorus from a tiktok. The chorus made me curious of what inertia meant beyond a physics term. I find it catchy like every song of theirs. – @xEllyFlowerz #311

I found them as a kid from the radio and just thought their songs were cool, when I got older into my teen years, I began to relate to the lyrics and when my life got pretty hard because of some mental health issues, they were always there. Everything around me was changing but they weren’t. I got the chance to see them in concert in June of 2022 for their oko tour and it was the best experience of my life. I cannot wait to see them this year for the tmm tour. – @Ronnie_schmid_ #135

For most of my life, I’ve known that I want to be a musician. I’ve always loved musicals, concerts, writing songs, performing, and pretty much anything that has to do with music in general. And when listening to music, I’ve always paid close attention to not only the vocals but every single instrument and sound that a song has to offer. In most cases, there isn’t a lot of depth; there was never enough for me to focus on. That was until I found AJR. I instantly fell in love with the production, the vocals, the storytelling, and every single aspect of their music. I felt like AJR and their music perfectly represented me as a person and as the musician I want to be. They inspire me to go beyond the bare minimum with the songs I write and how I perform on stage. Their fearless stride to be so different, so unique, from every other artist out there is so motivational to me and every other aspiring artist who follows the band. It is my dream to one day walk on a treadmill in an arena packed with people, become skilled enough to produce an entire digital orchestra, and to make people smile the way AJR does. – @jackbrzenk #027

Their kindness and how everything about them makes me feel like I found a home. My best friends, their shows, everything. I’ve never felt so loved and respected in a room full of people in my life, and not only that, but by the band themselves. So lucky to have them in my life. – @sadorchestra #234

I’m a fan of AJR because not only are they the sweetest and down-to-earth people you’ll ever meet, but their music is not like anyone else’s music, and they are the best at putting meaning and messages into songs that don’t necessarily sound sad, but have a deeper meaning! “Turning Out Part III” will forever be my favorite song! I am recently divorced at only 21 years old, and that song helped me cope through a rough time! They put words to a difficult situation that I couldn’t! – @KaylaLodwick #037

I don’t have one moment of AJR drastically changing my life. But it feels like they’re always there for me. Also they taught me what post concert depression feels like. That’s bittersweet. – @MaybeYouFeelMe #294

I’ve been an AJR fan since I was 12! I had been having family issues and I didn’t know how to cope with it. So, I began listening to music until I heard “100 Bad Days” come on, it made me realize my bad days could become amazing stories, so I began listening to more songs by this band and eventually before I knew it I listened to them everyday. Every time I was down especially in Covid years and dealing with the deaths of my friends as a 14 year old kid, I made it through thanks the the messages in the songs and I have been a fan since and I will continue to be one 🙂 – @123mimichan123 #186

I love how chaotic everyone is! Both at shows, with their fans, or just with each other! You guys put so much love and energy into everything you do; it’s hard not to love it as well!! – @Crescent_Lynx #054

The first full album i heard was OKO, i found the album really good! so then i was thinking what are the other songs like? and i looked for their other songs and realized i found an artist thats just like me! i do have a soft spot for 3 songs, and those are 2085, sober up and next up forever as these are my favorites/one of my first songs that i listened to. – @drxxonz #088

Connecting to their songs, i can’t count how many times ive cried over songs because how relatable they are and how close they’ve hit home. Especially with their last album. – @bluswlrd #265

I really clung to AJR’s music when I was in a rough mental state. OK Orchestra was an album I could listen to and feel like I’m not alone in how I felt. specifically, jacks speech during the OKO tour really stuck with me, as someone who also has OCD. – @imaok_imaok #261

AJR is such an amazing band, and they really are brilliant. I love the uniqueness of their songs, and how close to home they can hit. The way they make music is truly incredible, and how they interact with their fans is also amazing, you can tell that they really care about each and every one of them. The amount of thought and energy that they put into their shows is insane, the creativity that they use makes it more than a show, an experience that people would never forget. AJR has helped me through many times in my life, through the good and the bad, and I feel that there is always one of their songs that I can relate too. – @galaxygirl171 #091

If I had to quickly describe it, it would be the intense admiration I feel for them. The admiration to not write about what most songs are about. The admiration of experimentation and using sounds that you normally don’t hear in music yet seamlessly putting it in there like it makes sense. The admiration to use their songs to convey relatability and talk about heavy topics. The admiration of them engaging with their fans in authentic and vulnerable ways that most artists rarely do. The admiration of them sharing their creative process. ‘The Maybe Man’ was especially an album that increased that admiration and love, if you can believe it. When I first listened to it, I cried. There was something so overwhelming and emotional listening to songs like “2085” and “God is Really Real” that can hit you like a ton of bricks. And I cried again seeing it live during their tour….in case you can’t tell, their songs can make me cry. 😂 I can’t really pick a certain song, or at least just one, because all of them hold significant meaning in different ways to me. “Karma” is about being good and wanting it returned. “Maybe Man” is about self-doubt and insecurities (and just a cool overture and table of contents). “Turning Out Pt. 1” seems to describe the AroAce experience that I go through (or at least it’s somewhat a designated anthem). And songs like “Steve’s Going to London” and “Ordinaryish People” are just absolute bangers. – @TheCosmicRebel #031

I’m from China. I’m not sure if you know, but the college entrance exam is very important here, so we are all under a lot of pressure in high school. I heard <Burn the House Down> in early 2018 when it was just a hit song. I liked the song, but I didn’t really get into it, who AJR really was. Then at the end of 2018 I started listening to all the full songs. I loved the click and this alternative style of music made me listen to all of AJR’s songs. In 2019 I’m in my third year of high school, which is the last year of high school and means I’m only one year away from my the college entrance exam. then I finished listening to Neotheater. my nerves didn’t go away, but eased up a lot. Maybe, as Karma said, a tense and sad year will be replaced with good times afterward. Then went through corona. it was certainly a big blow to me at the time and Bummerland was like a stimulant. I kept looping the song in those days. I can say that AJR’s songs accompanied me all through high school.
I’ve had AJR’s songs with me during my lowest and happiest times. Regardless of the final results of the entrance exams, AJR was like a friend who accompanied me throughout high school.
Undoubtedly, I became a fan of AJR. – @half_ooc #151

Probably The Worlds Smallest Violin is what made me a fan, It was the end part specifically, which was a trend in the Geometry Dash community. I wanted more, and more I got! Still a great song I listen to!

Honorable mentions: I Won’t, The DJ is Crying for Help, and Ok Overture – Advait #342

God, so many things. I’m a big fan of lyricism, and the way they write their lyrics is really down-to-earth and relatable. Whether it’s about growing up or learning to accept who you are as a person, I’ll sing their lyrics and know they feel just how I do. I also love Ryan’s producing style. All of the melodies, instruments, effects, or whatever else always make each song so unique and awesome to listen to. Lastly, their comedy. I just recently went to the TMM tour show in Orlando, and they found a way to integrate really funny comedy skits into their Broadway-like storytelling show, and it was amazing. Watching an interview and hearing them just be blatantly funny is always fun too. Anyways, if you guys see this, love you!!! – @notsuperlol #056

I’m literally in love with Jack’s voice, and every song is super relatable even though I don’t speak English very well. Their music is so inspiring. – tristan.drgs #191

All of their music relates to me in someway, 100 Bad Days, DTOML, 2085, Karma, and Sober Up, are my favorites. 100 Bad Days relates to me because I have had many bad days… DTOML relates to me because i like legos. 2085 is just plain good and has a great message. Karma relates to me because I feel like i do so much good and get no return. Lastly, Sober Up is just great, when I first went to the tour i thought i wasn’t gonna sing much but when I heard Sober Up as the second song it got me singing instantly. – brick_iee #349

Seeing them live for my first concert honestly made me fall in love with their music more. I also love how real they are, they love their fans and that’s what i love about them. – @Vexinonfire #326

I think what hits me about AJR is how relatable their lyrics are and how catchy their music is. I’m old enough to be a mom to them, but I don’t feel out of place as a fan. The first AJR concert we attended was at the Allentown Fair in late Aug./early September in 2021. Singing Bummerland with the crowd is something I will never forget. – @jennfisher4 #196

It has to be how unashamed they are; they make music on whatever topic they want, even if it’s not what most artists would care to talk about, and it’s honestly so cool. I respect how ambitious they are when messing with sounds to make it into something I’ve never heard of before. I love the weirdness of it all and how it makes me feel less alone. I love how the lyrics can be so simple yet so gut-wrenching; they truly make me feel, and that’s something really special. That’s the core of what makes me a fan of AJR. – xr_owo #030

I just love how creative y’all get with the composition itself! It’s very fun, and has definitely influenced my own (quickly abandoned lmao) attempts at music softwares. – Windswept_Wild_West #339

When I first heard an AJR song, I was immediately hooked. Since my senior year of high school (I’m now in graduate school!), I’ve been a diehard fan. I bought tickets in January 2020 to see them in August. Obviously, that didn’t happen, but I have refused to go to another concert until I make it up! “Karma” has been my #1 song for a long time now, and it only means more and more to me as time goes on. – @Sammanderk #051

I fell identificarte with a lot of their songs, also every sound that conform the songs are special, that makes a very special experience every time I listen to a song. I wanted to be a fan of a band since a very long time and I finally found it! – regsuaste09 #157

AJR just does it right. Honestly, AJR takes everything I love about music and amplifies it to 100 with their skills. No one can compete with their style, no one can compete with their awesomeness and uniqueness of their songs, and no one can compete with them, because at the end of the day, the Adam, Jack, Ryan and the rest of the crew we see are simply just real people. And that’s what makes me a fan. – @deepfried_wflz #317

I’ve always felt like I was the black sheep, in a group of friends and even my family. Listening to AJRs music makes me feel heard, and being part of this fan base I now know I’m not alone; that there’s so many people who I can relate to and are like me. It’s amazing <3 – Starquinonez #155

I first found their music in 2019, and fell in love with the lyrics and found my favorite album later that year. – @hiddenflame_4 #198

I’m an AJR fan because of the deepness of their music, the catchy beats and the meaning of their songs. – eva.2085- #149

AJR has helped me realize things about my mental health in a way that was more easily manageable for me. For example, in Karma, where the lyric “I’ve been so good, where the hell is the karma?” helped me greatly mentally. – @espressowrite #277

They are unapologetically themselves; they know how to say words that I can’t say. – @syd_177 #004

AJR gives me the space to talk about mental health in a way that I never have before. The Click was the first album I listened to and it was so wonderful, one of the few albums that I’ve ever listened to in one go. Maybe Man helps me be me, whoever that is. – @Dftbakristen #250

Come Hang Out, Karma, and Christmas in June have always been my to go songs. The fear of missing out, not getting anything in return, and not having enough time for friends and family have been issues i’ve been struggling with for years now. AJR puts all these struggles I’ve had into words, something I wasn’t able to do for myself. – @okocody #104

Whenever I am sad I turn on their songs and always feel better 😊. I feel like they understand what it is like to be human. – kaylaedavis83 #209

Dear Winter will always hold a special place in my heart. I’ve loved AJR ever since they came out with I’m Ready!! Longtime fan. Their music has helped me through so much and has kept me motivated to keep going. I’ve never related more to certain lyrics in their songs. They also never fail to amaze me! Their concerts are MIND BLOWING!! No matter how much hate they get, they just keep on getting bigger and better. It’s just so inspiring. I’m getting a tattoo this summer for them. – Wind_ahh #160

How honest they are in the music; whether it’s through metaphors and analogies or being upfront. Orchestral theater mixed with a unique production style of noises and sounds catches my ear. Their music has a standout identity of its own. – @Sonicboom2410 #053

What makes me a fan is how amazing these three are. They were a huge part of my childhood and helped me through my worst depression. I love the lyrics and generally how amazing the music is. I ❤️ Adam – Gar-gar-2085 #367

AJR has words for all the weird and ugly feelings that come with growing up and living life. They get what it’s like to feel alone, to doubt yourself, to run into things in life that change you even if you don’t want them to. They take those feelings and turn them into this giant, fantastical, indescribable thing that makes me feel so much more alive and so much less alone. Their music embodies all the hardest parts of being human and makes me want to sing, dance, smile, and cry about it all – sometimes all at once. And when I needed them most, they heard me. They told parts of my story that I felt like no one around me would ever hear or understand, and for that, I am eternally grateful. <3 – @onelastpun #018

In “Normal” (The Click Deluxe), I was going through a hard time away from home. And the lyric “is it normal to stay here and wish I was back at home” always felt it in my bones. I am also a fan because they make life worth living; their songs always make me happy and like I’m at home with the lyrics. Thank you AJR. – @okikijesu_xo #049

My mother passed of Stage 4 peritoneal cancer on October 23rd of 2023 at the age of 53. She had been fighting it since May of 2019. We attended 3 AJR concerts together through her diagnosis. We met them together and had a blast at all 3. Concerts were our love language to each other and she fought so hard to attend every single one until our last one in July 2023 (Fall out boy).
I remember sitting in the living room with her when God is really real was dropped and then when we were told Gary passed. It shook me to my core. Imagining how my favorite people were experiencing the same thing that I was. But it was the worst thing someone can go through. She was sick almost the entirety of last year but kept fighting. She kept fighting for me, our lovely pets that we both adore, and to hear TMM. Listening to TMM on November 10th right at 12AM was the most heartbreaking and magical experience of my life (besides attending the recent tour). I had her ashes on the bed next to me while I listened and cried. I’ve had dreams since her passing of her coming and visiting me and in every single on I’ve “shown” her TMM and told her how amazing it is and how I wish she could’ve made it. I’ve never had dreams like this and every time for a few seconds after I wake, it feels real. This band truly transcends just, everything. Thank you. – @ocentofonti #285

I think AJR, Jack, Ryan and Adam are the smartest nicest guys in the world. They’re creative because they write all of their music. I have a lovely picture with them that I keep on my nightstand. When I look at the picture I remember them always. – Ellie (@FanofAJR’s Grandmother) #239

Their music is amazing to say the least. I don’t care what people say about them, the way they use instruments and sounds in such peculiar ways to make beautiful sounds never fails to tickle my brain! The lyrics are gold and so moving. – Grace #181

The music is so relatable! I’ve never felt more connected to a band, and I am so happy to have discovered this band. I am the happiest when at an AJR concert, and I always will be! – @imwaylesssad #001

AJR has a neat way of bringing light to bleak situations. I’m a fan of AJR because they aren’t afraid to be themselves. Even if they’ve had doubts before, they incorporate that vulnerability into their music. This is the first group that has ever encouraged me to be unapologetically myself. I’ve struggled so much in the past few years, and knowing that I’m not alone in my struggles has brought me so much comfort. Something about the idea of the stages of life being condensed into a 12-track, 3-minute song album blows my mind. I still to this day tell my boyfriend every day that “my favorite color is you.” This group has overall just changed my life for the better (and I luckily just saw them in concert)! – @QueenMendesSlay #029

As someone with ADHD and Autism, AJRs music just does it for me, their unique sounds and their awesome visuals live. AJR tickles the brain perfectly for me. When I saw them live for the maybe man tour I was dancing and singing and I never felt so alive. – Its_zoey_doe #094

I love their youthful, philosophical, deep approach to the modern world, singing about things that matter while also acknowledging our weaknesses, inabilities, brokenness, illnesses, and ignorance. They give me hope and remind me that some people actually care and relate to the problems we’re all going through but don’t know how to express. – @ObjectivelyLuc #005

I’m a fan of AJR due to their music and how much I can connect/relate to them. The first song I listened to was “Bang!” and within 10 seconds I was like “I just found my new favorite band”. I don’t know if it’s the beats of the songs, the lyrics, Adam, Ryan, and Jack, or how unique they are as a band that makes me a fan of them. – adoracallahan #182

2017 prime, I heard the beat of Weak and it literally entranced me, I made my mom play it when I went to bed almost daily. I got more into the music when I got my own phone and was able to dive shoulder deep into AJR songs, and Karma was one of my first actual “oh my god, this might be my favorite” in any sort of way. I loved how it sounded and how the lyrics rhymed in a way that was right, not just made for the purpose of rhyming like some rap songs, and relating to a bit of the lyrics, not all of it though. – @unwellfeather #340

I’ve been listening to AJR since I first heard World’s Smallest Violin a few years ago, and it made me feel like all of a sudden everything might be worth it, and every song after that brought me more and more sunshine. Every time I listen to a song, I feel like I can survive. @alix_doesart #361

The splendid and strong sounds and lyrics that are hard to find in other musicians’ music made me fall in love with AJR. In particular, I think that’s the case with “Don’t Throw Out My Legos”, which made me know AJR for the first time. – @_Kim55_ #212

AJR’s music is just different from anything I’ve listened to but it still remains cohesive. The instrumentals are what got me hooked and they still stay phenomenal. – @wher3isthekarma #118

AJR has been the soundtrack to my life for six plus years, they have gotten me through the good the bad and the ugly, they somehow managed to write a song for what i was feeling when i needed it.. and they have had a heavy impact on how i look at life, and how i fit in to life itself, they have also heavily influenced my career path, I think if i wasn’t an AJR fan, i would not be going into music. Their music makes me happy and inspired, I wanna teach music to make others feel the same. – @Izzysokhbu #264

I first heard sober up during a difficult period in my life, had just come out, divorced and only saw my kids a few days a month. The lyrics spoke to my heart. From then on I’ve been obsessed with their music & message ❤️ – @ecaron617 #210

They make me feel like I’m not alone and they put my thoughts and feelings into words when I never could’ve. – @that_deaf_dude #199

I love every single album. I started being a fan in the OKO era, but my love was continued at the release of TMM. The reason why AJR rises above all is because of their uniqueness. Every other artist is saying how they do things differently, but AJR is the only one that truly does. My main playlist is like 50 of their songs, and 5 from other artists. AJR is and will forever be my favorite artist. – LukeO.11 #140

They’ve been able to bring me closer to the fandom and been able to bring me peace during moments where the storms of life just keep on hitting. Their album Neotheater helped get me through my very first heartbreaks and is so special to me so I thank them from the bottom of my heart for that. – @sarahtonin3021 #267

I’m a fan because well they talk about topics I relate to obviously but more than that they have a way of filling the space in their songs. Every song feels so full of life and I can just fall into a new world with each one every time. So that’s why I’m a fan each song is like a new world for me. – sage_seraph_ #220

The sounds are so captivating; I can listen to all of them over and over again and still notice new sounds or beats that I didn’t before. Sometimes I’ll get lost just tuning into one specific sound, and other times I will just be filled with such pure joy at all of the sounds together. When I listen to your new songs for the first time, I just stare into space and take it all in. It’s so vibrant and entertaining. I vividly remember hearing Joe for the first time and being overwhelmed with sounds, colors, and awe. I just sat smiling, following the sounds. Beyond that, I do really enjoy the lyrics as well; it fits my kind of witty, punny humor. You take things and put them in a way that I can enjoy and revel in feeling without it being too much to handle, but it still expresses something very real. Sometimes the best way to explain something is through something familiar, and it makes me feel seen. I love songs so casual and fun like “The Entertainment Here” and “Steve’s Going to London,” or groovy and neurotic like “3 O’Clock Things” and “Hole in the Bottom of My Brain.” I can tell you’re writing how you feel, and I feel it too. Since I was a bit younger, middle school when I found AJR, I find myself finding new meaning and understanding songs differently as I grow, like “The Trick,” “Dear Winter,” “Sober Up,” and “Finale” especially. It also really hits me when Jack’s voice will kind of scream while singing, in songs like “Humpty Dumpty” or “The My Play” and “Maybe Man.” The weight of “Finale” is so heavy for me. The pressure of always succeeding makes it so much scarier and eminent that it will all crumble eventually. Now, soon to be a college sophomore, the line of “Don’t forget about me when you get out of college” is such a reminder for me of how far I’ve come and how long you’ve been with me. I don’t think I’ll ever forget, but hey, I’ve got 2 and a half more years to find out. In response to your line of “I hope I made you smile,” that’s all I’ve ever wanted. You have. You’ve made me smile probably more than anything else, as well as fight tears and come to terms with parts of myself. Thank you. I genuinely love and listen to all of your songs, with the exception of “Normal,” but including collaboration songs like “Pretender,” “Record Player,” and “Too Late.” I know I haven’t mentioned “Living Room” yet, but I just enjoy them; they are the casual bops I need to chill out sometimes and remember that it’s fine to just be and exist in the airy dream state that is “Living Room.” Also, I originally didn’t know that Adam sang in “Living Room,” so recently I’ve had fun picking up the voices and being able to recognize who is singing. Thanks for my past, present, and future. – Lacy Meyers #010

AJR just has that sound that no other band has. Their unique ways of making music had me hooked, and I’ve been a fan ever since I found them. – @Wild_Wehttam #033

I truly would not be the person who I am without Neotheater and AJR as a whole. I would not have discovered my love for music, traveling, concerts, and much more without them. They have gotten me through my darkest hours and countless times, they were the only thing that were keeping me going. They have helped me become more comfortable with myself and have inspired me in countless ways to be myself and to not give up. – @Sonicboom2410 #290

I think the DJ is crying for help and sober up make me an AJR fan because I just relate to them so much and that it makes me so happy to hear a song about what I’ve been through or what other people have experienced. – @Theghostofmoll #206

I’m pretty sure I know every AJR song by heart: every chorus, every line, every word. I relate to many of them; a large part of it connects to what has been going on in my life over the past few years, and by some miracle the new albums always perfectly describe the situation I am currently in—my emotions, feelings, literally everything. Whenever I was at my lowest, AJR was here for me and told me that I wasn’t alone with all this, despite the rest of the world telling me the opposite. There are a few songs that I relate to the most, and certainly one of them is “Karma,” which will forever remain special to me, especially after Jack sang it while literally standing in front of me in Warsaw during the OKO tour. I finally felt understood for the first time in my entire life. – @Ziaziua #065

I am not a “fan girl” of anything But when I discovered you last year, there were something so connecting about your music. I listened and listened, and then the Maybe Ma was released…

And I thought to myself that I would attend your concert. I would dance around in my room, headphones, blaring, imagining myself being in the arena… and the day before the concert I bought my ticket knowing I would regret not being there.

I was very sick for three years from mold, toxicity and thought I would never feel normal again. Your concert was a way of me showing my body how to have high vibe, fun and excitement. Whenever I think about Being at the concert or watching a video from the tour… I can’t help but cry.

Your music helps me to truly know joy and I bought a sweater to anchor this experience forever. – @taylorddouglas #327

I’ve been a fan since the second I first heard living room. Ajr has helped me through so many hard times in my life and I honestly don’t know what I’d do without them. – Delaney #222

What made me a fan of them is how several of their songs can express different life situations that I have lived and still have yet to live. But they tell them in a different way, not so ‘sad’, if I can say it in that way, and that’s what I like about them. – kap1_c #167

AJR makes me feel so seen and heard! No one else even comes close to the relatability I get from them! They make me feel a little less alone anytime I turn on a song of theirs. I’m so thankful that I get to experience AJR in my lifetime because I don’t know what I’d do without them! – @next_upforever #012

AJR makes me feel seen and heard. Anytime I am listening to their music I feel at home and I know other people are experiencing the world in the same way I am. Watching this band go from playing small venues to massive arenas has brought me so much joy. I am proud to be a fan of AJR because it seems like all three of them care so deeply for each other, their music, and us as fans. My dad got diagnosed with early on set Alzheimer’s the same time God Is Really Real came out and it further deepened my love for the band. Getting to go to four different dates of this maybe man tour has been such a blessing and I’m so grateful that these young men are performing to people who think like them. Thank you Adam Jack and Ryan for saying fuck those high school bullies, fuck the record labels, and fuck the internet trolls. You guys are incredibly talented and I am so grateful to be able to watch you for many years to come. – @dylan_kort1 #078

I love their amazingly unique music style as well as there in depth and meaningful yet relatable lyrics. – @NFTsAreThePast #320

In 2019, I was driving across my state to sell my first car. This car was extremely sentimental to me, and I was very upset about it. The song “Don’t Throw Out My Legos” came across my suggested songs, and it immediately made me so emotional. At the time, I was also dealing with my parents selling the childhood home that I was living in at the time. I really felt the lyrics from the first line, “my new address is hard to remember,” to the last line, “cause I wanna move out, I don’t want to move on.” I pulled over to change my playlist immediately. I put on their full discography in that moment and haven’t turned it off since. Their music has gotten me through some very difficult times in these last 5 years. At one point, I felt like the concert ticket I had to their show was the only thing encouraging me to stay alive. I saw them live, and I knew in that moment, I wanted to stick around. When they came out with “2085,” that gave me an all-new reason to stick it out for even longer. Because in 2085, that will make me 91, and I’ll be able to sing “Hey, it’s 2085 and we’re old as shit, WHATEVER!” – the_foxy_temptress #008

I’ve always loved being a fan of AJR because I think it’s amazing how as brothers they get along so well and make such amazing music. I love how each of their albums has its own little world that goes along with it. Their music is also amazing, I love how they write about different topics than most artists do, and they make their music very relatable. – @ajr_flamingo #100

I can’t choose one simple song to describe what makes me an AJR fan. I got into the neotheater then the click is when it started to click 😉 then I was on a road trip back to my home town when OK ORCHESTRA was released and I non stopped listening to it and by the end of the road trip I knew all the words. I was sadly unable to go to that tour I was very sad that I missed out. Then The maybe man came out and I screamed when I found out! Then the tour dates came up for sale I was ready to pull the trigger on getting them talking to my mom, she said get them. I was shocked then she said merry Christmas! I was so excited , this was my first concert! And with my favorite band!?! Best time ever. Now I’m happily thinking about what the band will come out next with. The songs I really relate to is “the dj is crying for help” or “woody Allen” I love the way woody Allen sounds it always puts me in a good mood! The dj is crying for help is more personal song in the way I feel like everyone does have it figured out and stuck in the past. Everyone has gone out of town for collage and I’m stuck in the same home town not knowing what to do next, feeling stuck and alone. Waiting for the beat to drop, waiting for everyone to come back to home town. I love how I can connect to with music on a deeper level and pertain it to my life. For all the times you made me cry and made me happy. Thank you AJR 🙂 – @PlantmomRae5 #081

It’s difficult to put into words everything that makes me a fan. The music is relatable to the various struggles someone faces. The instrumentals are always amazing. The shows that they put on from what I’ve seen are inspiring, and an amazing time for anyone, even if you haven’t heard their music before. The fans are incredibly sweet to one another and we all find community in. – @PaperSmile6 #241

I love AJR because somehow out of all the bands I have listened to and all the artists the second I listened to them I could feel the emotion, the work, and the love that was in these songs and how I could see my self in the music and it has led me to start expressing myself better I got into band and drama and now I can see a future in myself that doesn’t involve anyone else’s opinion because I listened to your music and I saw people tried to bring you down but you fought through and now you have 100,000s of fans who love you and how it doesn’t matter what others say just what you think so because of that I know its cliche but I now know who I want to be when I grow up because I know what I love so thank you AJR. – Lily #333

What makes me a fan is their ability to capture such a wide range of a person’s feelings through song lyrics is wonderful, not to mention the MUSIC! Every song has a grain of something special, if it’s an instrument, a sample or something old or new, etc- and it’s all beautiful. Their songs are seriously magical, and their shows are, as expected, just as lively, sad, happy, excitingly, bittersweetly heartbreaking in the most beautiful form heartbreak can come in. – Erlandi_isnotmyname #176

The thing that makes me an AJR fan is the lyrics of their songs, because the lyrics talk about things that have happened in my life, and some of them are still happening. Also, they make me feel that I’m not the only one who has gone through these situations.
Another thing that makes me a fan is the speeches that Jack makes during their tours. They are not only emotional but also help me in my real life. To help you understand better, I will give you an example: in the OKO tour, Jack made a really incredible speech that touched on many different things. One of the things that impacted me the most is that asking for help is not a bad thing but rather the opposite! Before I heard that speech, asking for help was an action that I associated with weakness because a lot of classmates made me think that way due to how they treated me. But as I said before, it’s a good thing that will help me a lot! – @Sandris148 #052

The style and production of songs has always made me proud to be a fan. Using such unique sounds and adding cool little details to songs is such an amazing part of what makes AJR! – @thedoctersings #247

AJR are my on-call therapist. Their music is always there whenever I need it. – imwaylesssad #253

There is no other music like this. The rawness, the orchestral sound, and the obvious love of them doing it that seeps into the music. I relate to them in the worst and best ways, and I find it incredibly comforting. Especially after getting to talk to them multiple times now. – @ocentofonti #044

I LOVE how relatable many of your songs are!!! My current favorite is Inertia, Don’t throw out my legos made me a fan!! – Lisa George #195

How unique they are to other artists. Always trying to make a new beat/symphony every time they release a new album. It truly amazes me how original and upbeat they are! Truly amazing! – Lauren Young #146

Inertia is awesome – Iansum1 #184

Karma is what sold me on being a fan of AJR. The ending captivated me, and I had to practice it for OSN. Then OSN blew my mind and I was hooked and here we are. – ivebeensogood #307

Personally, my interest of AJR came from the feeling of liveliness and comfort each song has to offer, whether it’s about understanding that it’s alright to be weak, or that everyone’s life is a mess at some point. The band feels less like a band, and more like the three older brothers of the family who are always making us laugh and enjoy life no matter what we’ve been through, because despite all of our hardships, we’re on this earth together. If I ever am given the opportunity, I would offer them my thanks for making life just a little less dim for us all. @MonoLachrymose #358

It’s not just the music. It’s more of the meaning behind it and who each of them are as people. It’s amazing that they’ve come this far from where they’ve started. All of their music resonates with me extraordinary amounts, especially the new songs from TMM. – @imjustoodumb #192

I listen to every song and share my love with my dad being able to share a love of a band go see a concert with him makes me a fan. The music is so good and helps me during hard times. – Hannah #329

I am inspired by their ambitions to dream big and reach their goals; while maintaining their roots of who they are. What really made me a fan was their albums Neotheater and The Click. I enjoyed listening to both albums. Got to see them play at MVP Arena and it was the best concert I’ve ever been to. – Abbyw0019 #225

AJR is that band that you can listen to and dance to their music without a care in the world, their unique sound and uplifting beats are what make them them. Being able to enjoy their music and feeling connected to them on that level is what makes me love them so much more. @Iwasntthemistake69 #357

They are my favorite band! AJR has connected me with so many friends and filled me with so much entertainment for years! – @Phantomations #292

Something about their style. Their songs are so relatable to me, especially now that I’m an adult, and I feel like their lyrics are a real slice of life. They’re so wacky and silly, and yet so able to hit home with their words. There’s definitely nobody else quite like them, and that’s the amazing thing. – Dana C. #013

It’s music that I’ve never heard of before… I remember first listening to their music and felt like my life changed :’) – @osnapitzajr #193

Su producción llena de sonidos tan locos y variados, además de las emociones tan fuertes que transmiten sus canciones. – @JackVrotway #098

Their production is full of crazy and varied sounds, in addition to the strong emotions that his songs transmit. – @JackVrotway #098

When I found AJR, I almost immediatly became their fan because of the relatable topics, unique music and the overall vibe. When I feel numb, I can listen to their album and experience emotional rollercoaster in the best way possible. When I feel like no one can understand me, I listen to Inertia or Karma and be way less sad. This is what makes me a fan. – sunny.the.eevee #227

They saved my life. Whenever time set tough I always turn to their music to make me feel better. The lyrics are so real and the way they write their songs, you can feel all the emotions they are feeling. Having something to turn to and lean on is what AJR provides and it’s why I will be a life long fan. – @tolle_jayden #316

Their very songs are very relatable which I love! I specifically love the dumb song because I can resonate to it. Someone in my school kept thinking they were way smarter than me and kept telling me backhanded complements and mean comments about my intelligence level. I think they thought I was dumb until I got better test grades than them. I hope this teaches them to never doubt someone’s abilities and that they are no better than anyone else. I don’t think anyone is truly dumb. The only thing I think is really dumb is thinking that you are better than others. – Aylese #352

I relate more to AJR’s music than I do to any other band’s. It started with “Bang!” and I’ve been a fan ever since. – @Rachspang95 #156

AJR has always been apart of my life. The first song I ever found of theirs was “let the games begin” and I’ve loved them ever since. All of their lyrics have stuck out to me and make me feel accepted. It’s been hard with bullying and other things but seeing AJR struggle through the same things I did made me feel accepted. I love how even knowing they have haters they push through all of the hardships and it has helped me with mine. My favorite song of theirs is “finale (can’t wait to see what you do next)” as the lyrics “they wanted heaven from me, I gave them hell” has just REALLY pushed me. It shows I don’t have to give every single person what they want and I can be my own person. I love them so much and they were my first concert 🩷 – Whos._.mint #120

To me, AJR is the metaphoric shoulder I can always lean on. when things are hard, I know i’ll always have their music and the comfort they bring me. – @killthejoke #258

The topics and the realness makes me a fan. The songs never fail to actually describe how you’re feeling and let everybody else who is dealing with the same problems actually feel heard and understood for once. the first song that got me hooked was surprisingly “my play” because of personal connection to the verses and hearing something being talked about when i’ve heard it from no other artist. – @HoneyV_Comb #130

The first AJR song I’ve ever heard was “Bud Like You”, it reminds me of my sister, we’ve always had each other and we always will. Everybody deserves a bud like her.
Of course every single song is pure magic, I’ve always seen myself in the songs, which makes it even more special – @alicevaccaro_ #189

AJR to me is a band that’s a little weird yet the most relatable band I know and I wouldn’t be me without them!!! <3 you guys :3 – xr_owo #256

I first heard AJR when I was young and then was reintroduced later on in life. Their music provides so much comfort for me. I feel like AJR is the one group I’ve ever listened to that has grown up with me in a sense. Hearing them sing and talk about life, politics, grief, etc. are not what people anticipate listening to but I think it’s sweet to know that as I’m growing into an adult in this crazy world, someone, even for a second, understood what it was like. – @QueenMendesSlay #270

They are REAL. I have never seen a band so open with themselves, their music and their behind the scenes. I see this with the Tour Docs especially. I love their down-to-earth personalities. – @taylorahunt #224

AJR has helped me through so many rough patches in my life. I love to belt out each song regardless of where I am. I love how they’re so emotional and open with their fans. It’s beautiful to see the sheer amount of emotions each and every song can bring out in a person. – @king.von.meticulous #069

I have always enjoyed AJR, but during COVID when they did the One Spectacular Night stream I checked it out, having not much else to do during lockdowns. The performance was absolutely amazing, I had never seen anything like it before. I laughed, I cried and I finally felt a spark of hope, in what felt like such a long time because of the obstacles COVID put us all through. I’m not typically the concert type, but after seeing the live stream and knowing you would be coming to Boston, I knew I had to go. <3 – handwrittenhailey #297

They include everyone in their show, and they are just like us. They involve fans and make sure that we enjoy everything. They are just really kind. – Collegesophomore.caroline #011

AJR Helps me cope with my anxiety, when I’m stressed I just put it on and all my stress goes away. – AnAverageJoe0102 #332

I love, love, love their rawness, both within their music and outside of it. They’re not afraid to speak out when they’re not doing well, and they make it abundantly clear how much they care for their fans even if they need to take a break. AJR was the first to truly introduce me to the world of personal and unfiltered lyrics, something that has since become the reason my favorite songs are my favorite songs (both for them and for other artists). They show themselves being human, which is something you can’t always expect from an artist their size. Circling back to caring for their fans – they’re always willing to listen as someone shares their story. It’s honestly admirable for them to be able to listen to the trauma dumping of 20 strangers every night. Also, unfortunately, they’re so much funnier than I’d like to even give them credit for. Their videos from 2012 make me laugh, and they continue to make me laugh in 2024. Not to mention their concerts, of course. The shows are absolutely insane and have set the bar very high for all other artists (I’m just waiting for Jack to start flying around the arena like P!nk). So, I’m a fan of them for pretty much every reason you could think of. The music is weird, and they’re weird, but I guess we’ve got that in common <3 – @killthejoke #047

They have put so many of my thoughts into words that I didn’t quite know how to say! They also are so open about struggling in certain ways! They have genuinely just helped me becoming better at coping with difficulties in my life! Also, they were a huge reason why I went into music production in college! I now having an associates degree and in the process of my bachelors!!! – @KaylaLodwick #279

They’re music has helped me grow emotionally as I started to understand how some of my emotions are bad for me and I should seek for help. Anytime I feel alone they somehow release something new that’s exactly about how I’m feeling. They’ve changed me as a whole as I’m not as anti-social with no friends anymore. Their music has made me able to talk to so many people and get so many opportunities in life that I would’ve never had. – @AJRMyPlay #280

I’m a fan because of the fact that they can describe how I feel when I can’t. – A-G-L #158

What makes me a fan? I mean, the sick tunes obviously…

But also, never being afraid of showing who the hell you are. From raw emotion cleverly worked into catchy melodies, to the best dang dance moves you’ve ever seen. Leading the way for us all to show our true colours and love who we are.

You see the shit us fans get up to to celebrate you and your achievements. Look at the creativity you encourage us to nuture.

Been here for at least 10 years, and will continue to be here for the rest of my days on this weird floating rock. 💕 – @julietzena #371

I just really love the quirky sounds and people never really sounded something like they do so I really love that. I just also think these guys are just the most nicest and funniest people on earth. I hope one day I get to meet them. – @VLover2019 (Shadow The Hedgehog) #105

What makes me a fan is the emotions that AJR songs bring me. I’ve never had such unique feelings listening to other artists but AJR really made me feel something again. Also all of AJR concerts are masterpieces. – Sergei #102

There was a period of time in my life where I felt like no one out there would ever understand what I was going through- I was in a really dark place and it felt like I would never be seen or heard. AJR came along and helped me realize that not only was I not alone, but they gave me the courage to face my struggles head on. Their music motivated me to keep pushing through the crappy parts of life in hopes of a brighter future, which is something both they achieved and I have discovered as well thanks to them. Their albums have continuously narrated my life and I am so grateful that they helped me become who I am today. – onelastpun #272

I love how real their music is. A lot of the messaging in their music is relatable and makes me feel understood. I also like their silly production and just how it sounds. There’s no other music that sounds quite like AJR does. – @rileycolonthree #324

I love just how the songs feel, sometimes they can be funny, sad, happy, but, whenever I listen to AJR, one thing stays the same, they always put a smile on my face. – Bentley #347

What makes me a fan is all the music and how much you guys love your music. – Alex___cosplayz #115

There is so much I could say here but not enough time in the world to type it all. Their music speaks to me and speaks for me when I can’t form words for myself (as someone on the autism spectrum, that happens quite frequently). Their music has saved my life and given me a sense of calm through panic attacks. And the way they seem to reinvent instruments is something I’ve never seen before. They are so unique in sound, and having met them 2.5 times I can say they are the most down to earth band I’ve ever met. I love them so much. – @bluebabytori #235

I just love the way they make music, using unusual sounds and noises; it shows anything can be music. Also, their lyrics are so honest, real, and raw (more to the heart). – jamiedewoolf #016

I have to say what makes me a fan is a few things, (not in any specific order) one being that no matter one song it is, it is guaranteed to be a bop. Many artists have a few hits and the rest of the songs are eh… and don’t get noticed, but each of AJR’s songs are well done. Rachel P. Singleton #365

Well, it’s everything about them for me, lol. From their music to their wonderful personalities. I love how they mix different genres to create a sound that’s entirely their own. It’s the combination of unique sounds and relatable storytelling that really makes AJR special for me. My favorite AJR song has to be ‘Netflix Trip.’ I stumbled across it while shuffling through their discography, and I immediately got addicted to it. I love that song because it’s not just a song, it’s a journey through life’s pivotal moments, and the way it paralleled with episodes of ‘The Office’? Genius, lol! I discovered that song when I was going through a hard time, and it was as if they took pages out of my own life and set them to music. The song resonates with me because it’s so comforting, and it always reminds me that no one knows what the future holds, but as long as I’ve grown and learned from my past experiences, that’s all that should matter. I love AJR so much, and I really hope I get to see them live someday 🙂

Love, David (your biggest fan from Nigeria!) – @fxnsho #062

They’re an incredibly fun band to listen to. i can’t find a single artist or band that sounds anything like AJR. their discography is incredibly diverse, from banger hits like 100 bad days or bang, to intimate tearjerkers like the trick or the turning outs. they were also the first band that i really became a big fan of, and got me to start listening to other artists and bands, and expand my knowledge of music and ultimately, the world around me. – @amethystbad #101

I can’t imagine where i would be without them, i literally get anxious when i think about not having this band. this album and tour helped save my life, this year has been extremely hard for me for many reasons and TMM Boston had me feeling real happiness for the first time in months. so many tears of joy were shed that night and ever since then my life has been slowly but surely getting better, this band showed me how to be myself 💛 – @2legsrbroken #282

AJR makes me feel less alone, and more understood. Every single song of theirs fills me with such a good feeling, something that I get nowhere else, and I love them for it!❤️ @drwho1103 #363

Honestly, there are a lot of reasons why I’m a fan. First off, I think their style is super unique, and they make a lot of music that no one else makes. I also love how invested they are in the process of making music and how creative they are in doing so! Secondly, I genuinely think pretty much all of their music is super catchy and good. And third, I really relate to a lot of the things they talk about in their songs. I just graduated college, so I’m finding myself listening to A LOT of Neotheater and TMM at the moment. I’ve always liked their focus on not knowing what comes next as it’s something I find myself thinking about a lot, especially now. But also, I know that all three of the brothers are just genuinely great people. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting them, and they’re just overall amazing. Not to mention they do a lot of important work and advocacy that most bands and musicians tend to stay away from! And honestly, there are tons of other reasons why I’m a fan, but I don’t want to write an essay especially after having gone through final exams so recently, lol. But thank you so much for making such amazing music guys. We love you. – @JPMisawesome15 #060

What makes me a fan… It’s a weird story, basically it was how I’ve related to the songs. While I’ve never done a deep dive into lyrics, now that I’ve been going through tradegy (specifically for God is Really Real as my Grandma passed in December 2024) alongside some self re-flection on who I am, cause frankly I don’t know who the hell I am (get it, from the song Maybe Man). Things are changing in my life and while I’ve never focused on meaning much (excluding Burn the House Down), I’ve started to get the meaning of certain lyrics. And now, it’s those meanings that make me a fan. – Giancarlo Flores #344

I love the lyrics and the melody to most of the songs. I love the emotion behind them it makes me emotional. – dylan_m_27 #201

Their concerts are my happy place. i feel truly myself when I listen to their music. – Nora #123

AJR has made an impact on my life by being like the big brothers I never had, guiding me through life’s unknowns. – @antiheroine_13 #276

I’ve loved Bang! since it was featured in an Apple commercial, and their sound truly stuck out to me. No artist or band has ever made me feel such an unfiltered form of happiness, and AJR somehow managed to do just that. There are so many easy-to-understand relatable tracks, like Don’t Throw Out My Legos, Inertia, Bummerland, Break My Face, 100 Bad Days, and Way Less Sad, just to name a few.The Maybe Man is definitely going to be timeless, because I just haven’t gotten bored of it one bit even after a year. I raved on about AJR to the people in my friend group, and I’m happy to say that they like the music too! Basically, AJR is one-of-a-kind, and I can’t wait to see what they do next. – techyOS #337

What makes me a fan? Everything, from the amazing lyrics and melodys, to the special production, to the way you perform to your personalities and hearts!! Keren #370

As AJR’s number one fan, I love EVERY song to the core. OKO was my very first album (I’m still a baby) and the one that really hooked me in. While some songs such as “3 O’clock Things,” “The Trick,” “Karma,” “Turning Out Pt1,2&3,” and “Call My Dad” make me perfectly sad. Songs like “Break My Face,” “Three Thirty,” “Bud Like You,” and “Yes I’m a Mess” make me want to get up and dance. Every song has had its moments with me as I become fixated on every song for a period of time; it even had me defending songs most people wouldn’t like such as “Thirsty,” “Call My Dad,” and “The Trick,” which are all songs that I personally love.

When I think of AJR, I sing “Wow I’m Not Crazy’s” frankly, I’m scared of “clowns,” which I laugh at every time because for a solid year I thought the lyrics were “CLOUDS”!!!!!!!!!! I will explain why it’s clouds; it makes perfect sense because this may be my ONLY chance!! When clouds gather together, it starts to get dark and rain, and usually rain makes people sad so when he says “The get-togethers get me down,” it makes sense because clouds getting together and raining get him down. Every time I think about it I do giggle! Next time they release, I will make sure to clean my ears though, as I am not trying to have another tragic breakdown of a song from the AJR community 😂.

Another song that does make me giggle is “Inertia” because the vocal part around 2:45 sounds a bit like Black Ops 2 zombies.

I was on the edge of my seat when “The Click” was about to be released! I thought, “So this is how they felt when Neotheater, OK Orchestra, and Living Room were being released.” YES, I cried as soon as it started playing! I feel so proud knowing how far they have come, and I will defend AJR to the ground. When they come to the UK, I am going to all the concerts I can!

Watching their old videos when they weren’t as big as they are now just brings a smile to my face, knowing they kept the same energy all the way through. Their stage presence has me on the edge of my seat. People always say, “Do you listen to anything else other than AJR?” And of course, I do, but nothing ever feels as close to home as AJR does. The real question is… why would I need anything else other than AJR? If they have a million fans, I am one; 100 thousand, I am one; 10K, I am one; 100, I am one. If it’s one fan, I AM THAT FAN… I didn’t choose the AJR life… the AJR life chose me. – @AJR_UK_ #071

(Father) Hanging out with my daughter is what makes me an AJR fan.

(I’m the daughter) Me and my dad love listening to their music together and TMM Tour was by far the greatest night of my life. – Steve & Sarah #356

From 2014 until now they have been a constant presence in my life. I’m pretty sure not a week goes by were I don’t listen to at least one AJR song. Every album has this song(s) with lyrics describing something I feel or felt in the past and sometimes I didn’t even know and help me understand myself and life a bit better. I know I can count on them when I’m happy, and not so happy. – @AJRSpain #274

I’m an AJR fan because of the messages they have in their music. I’m 33 right now and have been through some, you know, stuff. Addiction, depression, stuff like that. The best time for me to listen to AJR is when I am bouncing back and trying to take some broken pieces in my life and put them together. “100 Bad Days” I feel like was written using my life as a template. That’s the thing, though…I bet a lot of people on here feel similar and that is a cool thing, being able to touch so many people so closely. Plus, I love my siblings and would love to be in a band with them. – @chrisgray01 #334

Everything. Their passion and love for music, and their ability to put on an amazing show, make them stand out to me, and Jack has one of the most beautiful voices I’ve ever heard (and I fucking love his hat). – @2legsrbroken #040

I’ve made stronger friendships through AJR!! You can probably tell by my username but I care about them a lot, and they’re the first and only concert I’ve gone to. They opened me up to new genres of music too and as I’ve grown, their music has grown and matured with me. – @TheClicklnMyEar (the I is a lowercase L) #288

I love to enjoy live music and listening to fun and real music, me and my mom are huge fans and AJR was my first concert! Can’t wait to see them in boston! – @eras_whore #110

Hey guys I’m sure you won’t see this but I just want to thank you for all your music, my fav song is probably intertia acoustic or burn the house down. – Rat #346

AJR has impacted my life by giving me a perspective that I can relate to. I find all of my hardships and insecurities in their music, and they’ve helped me realize that I’m not alone. They’ve inspired me to write, to perform, and to spread the same exact message that no one is alone. They have helped me through some of my toughest days by simply having written a song, and I find that so special. – @jackbrzenk #268

I LOVE their music. A lot of their songs make me think about my band class and their songs help me with my emotions. It’s really hard to pick a favorite song because I really like all of them. If I had to pick one it would probably be “Touchy Feely Fool”. I like Touchy Feely Fool because I relate to that song a lot and it reminds me of certain people. – @gachar7 #207

AJR to me, is family, they are, support, reassurance and a special kind of love. – @Izzysokhbu #254

Everything. Their talent, their creativity, the fact that they are SO unapologetically and truly themselves, their weirdness, their personality, their unlimited kindness, their raw emotion. They’re not afraid to bring up topics that so many other artists these days would never dare to bring up. – @letsdotoday #039

AJR, your music will always be special to me. YOU will always be special to me. Everything you create is made with so much passion and love of the craft and the art, and it shows. The lyrics speak to me in ways that no other artist has ever come close to doing. Your journey is so inspiring and makes me believe that dreams can come true in real life. It’s hard to narrow down any one song that means the most to me, because every single one is special, but the one that comes to mind is 2085. Someone in the community once said that this song celebrates a life well-lived, before you’ve even lived it. It fills me with so much joy and optimism every single time I hear it. It feels like your closest friends singing around a campfire, or to the last song on the dance floor, or at karaoke night at the bar, where nothing matters except the love you share and the music that brings you together. It’s reminiscent of Piano Man by Billy Joel, which is another one of my favorite songs. 2085 gives me hope for the future, which can be hard to come by these days. Thank you for creating such an incredible song and 5 incredible albums that changed my life.

Along with your music, I also have to mention how inspirational and AWESOME it is that Adam is a climate scientist in addition to bassist. I’m a meteorology student and I graduate with my bachelor’s this spring. It is SO COOL that my favorite band of all time has a member who’s in the same field that I am. Adam, you are an inspiration to me, and a powerful voice for climate action and justice. Thank you for being one of my heroes.

With so much love for you all,
Amy from Omaha – @sharkapo_ #322

Well I love their music. I love the way they make it and I love the way I can relate to the music. – Marley Grace Austin #154

What made me a fan of AJR was “Way Less Sad.” The song’s groove had me humming it for days. The lyrics resonated with me because of the stress and suicidal thoughts I had. – @Dorcupi #046

Your music has directly inspired me in so many ways… I love the way you challenge the notion of the structure of music, particularly with “Maybe Man” being a table of contents for the rest of TMM (which has inspired me in my short story writing to turn the table of contents for the collection into a story of its own). You’re not afraid to experiment with new sounds and you find music in everything, according to your “how we made” bits during concerts (which are amazing, that a group would be so open about the narrative behind the songwriting process to its fans). And you hold nothing back… every single detail in the albums, every single moment during tour shows, all of it is so beautifully, authentically YOU, and people don’t have to be long-time fans to sense that. 🙂 @dubiousfood.exe #364

The unique instrumentals, personal meanings that I connect to, and the comforting personalities of the brothers. Their music hits like no other, as if they completely understand what I’m going through—which helps me feel less alone. Their songs help me work through my depression and anxiety daily. – @woomymczoomy #058

I love how experimental and fun their music is whilst also being so relatable. – reoccurringdaysblurring #203

It is the mix of honest lyricism, ingenious production, crafty songwriting, and enthusiastic performance – both recorded and live – that sets AJR apart and makes me a fan. I can’t think of many other artists who can pull off big, bombastic and grandiose as well as heartfelt and personal in tandem (often even simultaneously) like AJR can. – Samuel L. #314

I listen to at least 100 songs a day, and I can assure you that OKO and TMM are part of them. – @cucowny #050

I am a huge fan of your music because it has helped me out of some of the darkest thoughts in my head. You guys speak the truth of what it feels like to not be understood and the fact that you guys don’t care that you’re not understood has really helped me in high school because I have been bullied since third grade. Because of you I have learned to be myself and learned to accept that I’m not perfect. Some of your songs that I have really truly related to are Wow I’m Not Crazy, Karma, and Burn The House Down. You guys are my heroes and I went to your show in Baltimore and it was one of the best shows I have ever been to. Your speech about high school bullies brought me to tears. You guys are my heroes. Thank you so much. That is what makes me a fan. – pew_pew9628 #141

I really love how unique their sound is. I have a hard time figuring out what genre to put them in because it stands out so much. The lyrics (to me) are deep-cutting and relatable, and whenever I have a struggle, I feel like there’s a song for that. – @TheClicklnMyEar #048

There’s this thing in AJR music that makes me never have enough of it. I’m a person who gets tired of songs really quick, but AJR’s have the ability to hit in the most deep parts of me and never let go, so I feel I could listen to them all forever. I remember that two weeks after TMM got out I still didn’t want to listen to any other thing, and that was the first time I experienced a feeling like that. – @thebandname_ #079

One of the main things that make me a fan of AJR is how relatable their music can be. Every album that they have released in their years as a band there has always been one or two songs on each album that I can really relate to.With “Weak” for example, this is the song that got me into AJR, it has always been a song that I can relate to. – tpwk_mikaela #303

What makes me a fan is their songs with cool lyrics, especially DTOML, No Grass Today, Turning Out pt.1, 2085, christmas in june. – aezkarov #108

Been listening to them for about four years now, saw them twice, and love their music. – @2xfr_wrckd_wrrd #036

AJR’s an inspiration to those who have been put down in life due to “being weird” or for dealing with issues that are intimidating to speak up about. – @Sonicboom2410 #260

In a world where I didn’t know who or what I wanted to be, the Maybe Man Album made me realize that it was okay if I didn’t know yet. Their music has helped me through some rough times. Much love from NY, keep rocking! – MochaMagiic #343

AJR just has such a unique sound that I haven’t heard anywhere else. They make songs that are relatable to any time in someone’s life. – @LiamSorensen5 #075

They write music for the sake of having fun and playing live shows. They don’t make music with the soulless intent of getting famous and getting rich; they make music because they genuinely enjoy it. And the topics they write about hit me and everyone else very hard. We’re able to connect with those ideas and concepts and enjoy the songs that much more. And who could forget the incredible production of Ryan and the musical-like performances they put on? This band is like no other and maybe a once-in-a-lifetime thing, but I’m glad to be living while this band is thriving, growing, and having fun with it. – @GreenTweets4 #063

AJR make us feel heard, like the messages they send in their music helps us to know that we’re not alone and that other people in the world feel exactly the way we feel!! – @marcina____ #121

Their music hits right in a place where I never realized that there are other people who relate to things that I have felt. They make me feel seen. – @2xfr_wrckd_wrrd #278

Every single song they make is peak! From Thirsty to Karma, there are little to no bad AJR songs. They are so kind, inspiring, and put on one hell of a concert! In the words of Jack Met: “FUCK THE HATERS.” – @Phantomations #057

The storytelling, the funky instruments, and the way the shows are so theatrical and in-depth. They’re absolutely magical. – @waterpawkz #064

It is so hard to put into words what makes me a fan of AJR because it is honestly everything about them. They are incredibly talented, yet humble individuals who are unapologetically themselves. The music AJR creates is so deep and meaningful and is a reminder that live can be good and also really shitty, but no matter what I am not alone. I truly have never seen myself in music like I see myself in AJR’s songs. My all time favorite song is Humpty Dumpty. The first time I heard Humpty Dumpty, I immediately started to cry. Never in my life have I felt so seen by a song. It is comforting to know that there are others out there who feel like I do. Whether it be listening to their music after a shitty day at work or taking a road trip to see them perform with my best friend, AJR will always be a constant source of comfort and happiness for me. – @3oclockjack #240

I love how their music makes me feel. I love how when I’m listening, I have no shame screaming their songs at the top of my lungs. Lastly, I love how their music makes my feelings valid, how they show that everyone goes through the same things and you’re not alone. – @KaylaCimaglia #231

I’m a fan of AJR because they were there when others couldn’t be. They were people who made songs about things that I was and still feel and go through. The music is so different so many different collages of music and everyday sounds people would consider noise. Every song is a work of art that tells a story of what they have gone through. It’s just so freaking powerful and they inspire me to do better as a person and work through my issues instead of avoiding them. They do so much good. – @Welc0me.to.my.W0rld #315

They made me feel like I wasn’t the only person going through my issues. They gave me hope and happiness on a daily basis. – @Dorcupi #287

Bang made me a fan. I heard it on the radio during 2021 and I really liked it. When I got home I looked up the band and listened to some of their other songs. I have been a fan ever since and can’t wait to see their show again. ❤️ – skatergirlchloesophia #175

The way you talk with your fans, your music, your tours they’re everything to me! I’m an AJR fan because I find your music really relatable and really catchy which makes the songs easy to listen to. The song that made me a fan would be “100 bad days”. I just couldn’t stop listening to it because I just loved the beat, the vocals, everything! This was probably one of the first songs that I could just listen to on repeat and never get bored of, it lightened up my whole world and I am really thankful for that. Love you and hope you’re doing well!❤️ – @RA3SH3LL #183

What makes me an AJR fan is their music, the members, and the overall feeling they give me. Like I’ve been feeling pretty down recently, and their music has helped me cope. It’s pretty cool to know that there’s a music group that I can listen to that’ll help me through tough shit. – startled_sparks #215

Their lyrics are very relatable and each album somehow lines up with what I’m going through in life. I feel like I’m growing with them as they grow. – @AJR2085 #302

What makes me a fan? What a big question. I could go on a long tangent on what makes me an ajr fan. but truly its their deep care for the music, the fans, and everything that they do. it’s pretty rare to find a band that cares so deeply about the music they make and the environment they create, to a point where they make that their top priority. thank you ajr for creating safe spaces for me and my friends 🤍 – @bxmmerland #246

The first AJR song I was introduced to was ‘Bang!’ Just the energy it gave off made me want to dance and jump around like Jack does during every show! I love the energy the guys bring. I find it fascinating how they develop each song; whenever they show the breakdown, they are just so talented. – emily.ktr #003

Everything about you guys makes me a fan!! your music, honesty, genuineness, kindness, etc:)) – @emilywaffles_ #298

I write my own music and AJR’s sound design and absolutely soul crushing lyrics have consistently inspired me in so many ways. – @RhapsodyLusane #096

I love their songs because they are so in depth. Other artists never talk about those things in their songs like AJR does and I really appreciate that they put their hearts and souls into the music. – aylie.h16 #139

AJR has undoubtedly made me happier, with their music I’ve learned to comprehend my feelings better and how to express them. – @AJandyy #283

in 2022, I remember listening to karma for the first time. to say i relate would be a complete understatement. everything about it is perfect. but what really makes me a fan? you guys. because you’ve never stopped being yourselves and you never stopped going. thank you for that, because that’s what made me a fan. @avaz3333 #362

I want AJR to know that no matter what critics say, their music makes an impact on all kinds of people, and to never give up on being original and sharing their life stories with the world. (from Nyck) – @Theclickinmyear #295

Listening to AJR has gotten me through a handful of tough times, and has effortlessly made me happy even on a typical day. Whether it’s getting involved with the community, impatiently waiting for new snippets and music, or fanboying about the band to my family and friends, it’s just a great time overall. – @notsuperlol #291

I’m an AJR fan because AJR understands the small things that make up life, the joys and the pains. They sing about things that no other artists mention. They put on a hell of a show and are just honestly the best. I love AJR. – @savannahcherry #136

I have been a fan since Ok Orchestra came out and I am so glad I got to find out who they were! My whole journey with AJR started during the Pandemic and when all of us were isolated. Thankfully, my best friend and I were close enough to still be able to hang out. One day, her sister played Bang! for the first time and I fell in love with the song and the music. I got the song and kept playing it for hours straight until I gave in and started discovering the artist behind the song. That was one great decision I made and I found a gallery of other brand new songs to listen to. I went from OKO to Neotheater to The Click and The Living Room. I strongly relate to their songs and I highly appreciate the fact that they don’t always talk about love or breakup. They talk about stuff that people don’t have the courage to talk about or don’t really think of talking about (Birthday Party, The Dumb Song, etc) and I love how unique they make each and every song.
I saw them for the first time in 2022 and have seen them the year after and will this year. Their shows were astounding and incredible. The props and the effects make live performances be so much more than they are and I am so happy that they made it this far! 🙂 – @F3stive1 #097

I love their music and humor. – Lillydances #109

I became a fan based on not only the songs that they have done in the past that I relate with, but their music has helped me through tough times and even made me feel powerful through uncertain times. Not only is their music super inspiring, but they are such nice and understanding people. I would say that despite how famous they are they still act like they are like everyday people which I love. I even love their story and how they worked to get where they are and find it super inspirational and motivating that they got to where they are. – @JoelBernardes5 #092

What makes me a fan was definitely hearing “I’m Not Famous” one summer afternoon on a random Pandora station. I had fallen in love with the song and was instantly hooked onto their other songs and have been since 2015. Whether it’s the beats of the songs or just intently listening to the lyrics and having a connection to them. – @bluswlrd #023

“How has AJR made an impact on your life?” This question got me teary eyed… They have given me purpose in a time of my life that I’m unsure of my direction. They have made me feel like it’s ok not to know what the hell is going on or who the hell I am, because none of us really do. They have brought comfort to me on my darkest days, and tears of joy on my brightest days. I can never repay them enough… But I’ll always try!! – @ericaab621 #266

I listen to every one of their songs, I’ve been to 2 concerts and I hope to go to more. AJR is my favorite band of all time and I don’t think that’s changing any time soon. – Jay.arlo.w #164

I first listened to Turning Out part 1 and I was HOOKED since then! My dad found the turning out music video on YouTube he showed it to me and I loved it so much and started to discover some of their other music! – macie.goldman #138

I absolutely love their sound and how they put their experiences into their songs. I struggle with mental health, and listening to their music really helps me cope, especially with my anxiety. – @AddysonTidwell #002

Their insanely unique sound and real lyrics, it’s what made me a fan of them in the first place and love them dearly. I also absolutely love their love for their fans and how they do absolutely anything to make things work for them. They are gems truly. – @sarahtonin3021 #026

Their whole vibe is the best no matter what situation, or mood I’m in. They have amazing personalities and are such sweet people in general. The first song I got hooked on was infinity, the lyrics, the melody, it all just worked together so beautifully that I had to know more about them. And I’ve been listening to them ever since. – Smolpotato427 #152

The passion they share for the music, performances and the fans. I’ve never seen a group give everything they have into every song like them. – @KielieghC #132

I feel such a connection to the lyrics. To just try to navigate life and find out who I really am. Becoming the biggest and best version of myself as I go. – crystullmariee #145

What makes me a fan is their lyrics and way of mixing instruments! The topics that AJR writes about are so unique and relatable, and make me feel seen. On top of that, I absolutely love the way that they layer so many instruments and sounds. It scratches my brain in just the right way! – @atx_kitty #106

I love AJR because the songs are emotional, relatable and are amazing! – @MLP_Cousins #312

I love all their songs and the meaning behind them. – Georgia #335

The song that made me a fan was World’s Smallest Violin. It was the first song I listened within context of the band and it really helped me realize that my problems may be smaller than other peoples’, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t valid. I don’t know how, but they always manage to put my thoughts into words behind absolutely spectacular musical production. No matter what I’m feeling, there’s always a song of theirs that supplies catharsis. Artistically, they represent things that I wish to accomplish. I want to sing, play instruments, design a production, be comedic, perform magic on stage with projections and lights, and have fun with it, all at the same time. It makes me feel like if someone else can do it, I can do it too in my own way. They have inspired me so much and I can’t imagine not having their music to help me through some of the hardest times of my life. – @kitkatbar31 #134

The MUSIC, LYRICS, the way of getting new and unconventional sounds never heard before into music, and the deep meanings in their songs are mainly what make me an AJR fan. Listening to their “Making of” videos and yt shorts give me ideas and inspiration as in how I can improve my own music making. I would LOVE to be able to share my work with AJR. I REALLY HOPE AJR READ THIS🦥 – meanwhile_me_be_like #187

All the songs describes my feellings and my experiences, the music and the rythms are incredible, Jack is so relatable, their career… All of them is so beautiful and they helped me when I didnt have anyone else. – d.annyy_2 #226

I’m a fan of AJR because they are a band that I can actually relate to and feel a deep connection too. – @MahaffeyStuart #321

First song I listened to was Burn The House Down, but favorite probably has to be Bang! and World’s smallest violin, the latter makes me a fan because ever since I discovered how they made these songs and what goes on behind the scenes made me realize how interesting and entertaining these songs are and of course the people behind it. – Anonymous #077

Ajr is relatable in so many different ways it is so indescribable, even if they arent in one or two songs its is extremely comforting to do so. Maybeman and 2085 were my favorite songs on the abulm and actually most of their finales are my favorite of each album its just so… Grand to pull out something so meaningful while so entertaining, and so energetic. Ryan is someone id love to chill and with what other people say, just to make up music if possible. Joh- no i mean Jack fits my love of energy, he WILL find a way to move when singing on stage and i am here for it. Adam…. Is adam what else can i say 😉 and the others in the band too really flow well with the music and its just a good time all around. – KatelinThekiv #348

I’ve been following the guys since I was 13 with I’m Ready and every song since has pulled me in further. It’s so refreshing to have music that is so relatable and brutally honest. The boys have helped me through every rough patch in my life by putting out an album about what I was going through as I was experiencing it. Since then, their music has brought me some of the bestest friends I could ever ask for and provided me a lifetime worth of joy and love. – @Mewhoeverthatis #229

All of it. All of them. Their unique sound, the lyrics, their goofy personalities, and their beautiful minds. Their live shows, the amount of effort they put into making it everything they want it to be for us and for themselves. The fact that they aren’t afraid to show us who they are. I am a fan because they are the most genuine music artists I’ve ever seen. – @betteroffastone #028

To me, AJR are people who can make the smallest person feel big. – @2xfr_wrckd_wrrd #257

My dad put on an AJR song once, i liked it. I was 6. Im 12 and still listen to AJR, they have impacted my life so much and the MMT was so cool to see! AJR ROCKS! Haniya #366

“God is really real” is my favorite song – so glad they played it live at their Boston concert. Even though I’m thankfully not experiencing that situation, I empathize greatly with them, and the idea of the supernatural only having importance when the natural is too depressing and overwhelming to bear appears so much to be the majority mentality of our society as a whole. It reminds me to care and be present in my own faith, not just when I need or want it. – @ObjectivelyLuc #006

I like their music and the energy that they put into their performances and shows with their visuals. – @anthony_holo96 #024

The way AJR is able to write and sing about things the would otherwise not get spoken about out loud is amazing. Not only that, but the way they’re able to take mundane little things (like my childhood legos) and turn them into a song that not only strengthened my connection with my mom, but basically became my anthem for growing up made me a better person. There are not enough words to list every AJR song that hits on little details that I had thought “Oh that’s just a me thing no one else will understand” and made them into anthems that define my life. Also, holy the shows. The shows are genuinely something you don’t see anywhere else in the world, pure spectacles fully surrounded by emotion and just pure passion. – babifetan #244

What makes me a fan is the way they experiment with music, and tell compelling stories through their lyrics. – @DanielR30480882 #113

I love how they’ve never given up despite constantly being brought down when they were in school, and how vulnerable they are with their fans and being able to express that through song. Claire #369

As an artist, my absolute favorite thing is when I see other artists, specifically my favorite musicians use a lot of visual art. Whether it’s art they’ve made themselves or through other artists they know or commission. It feels much more personal and I love that so much. Anyways, because of how much I saw that in the bands work, especially with TMM, I started to become more and more of a fan. I knew about AJR back in 2014 through “I’m Ready” and have heard a few of their popular songs throughout the years but it wasn’t until the release of The Maybe Man album that I started to get more into their songs. Honestly that album in its entirety is probably my favorite one. For this point in my life, I feel so seen by so many of their lyrics and the song that stood out to me the most is “Inertia”. This song is just everything to me and I’m forever thankful to finally gotten my shit together and listen to all of their music, I’m sad I’ve missed on so many incredible songs for the past 10 years but I’m glad to be able to appreciate them they way they should be right now. I’m eternally grateful for AJR for putting their music out into the world, for being such down to earth and kind people. Their artistry is absolutely insane and I hope they forever continue what they love because it’s honestly just amazing to witness and get to be a small part of it. – @busyheadplested #230

Their music soothes me in a way that I cannot put into words and they are singing about similar things that I experience, which makes me feel less alone! I love introducing new people to the band and making them realize they HAVE heard AJR songs before, it’s always a sweet little invisible string connecting me to the world around me. – @newromanticsmp4 #251

All of their work is what makes me a fan!! AJR has been in my life for years and have always been something to listen to. I’ve seen them live once and had the best time and am praying they come back to Australia 🫶 – _hoffensetz_ #217

I am a fan of AJR because I have never heard lyrics that sum up exactly how I feel and think and just how I am! It’s incredible! I feel so heard! Even God is Really Real sums up everything I felt when my own dad couldn’t get out of bed. He was in the ICU and we had to let him go. It was very sudden. I was 20 years old. The line “this kind of thing happens to other dads, it don’t happen to mine” really resonated with me, as well as the “we can’t face our feelings so we’re making lots of jokes” & ” I love you sounds all corny” these are my family to a T. We tried to not let our emotions out and just tried to lighten the situation. We also never really said I love you, we kind of just *knew* we loved each other, I guess? Sorry, went off on a tangent. Your music means so much to me. I feel like you write a lot of your songs just for me and I can sing them from my soul. You guys are incredibly talented and I cannot wait to see you in Pittsburgh on June 25th with my son who will turn 13 the day before the show! He loves your music too! Love you and thank you for giving a voice to us kind of people! – @akd087 #169

I’m an AJR fan because of the way their songs can somehow convay and put certain feelings and emotions into words. A good example of this from personal experience is Turning Out Pt. ii. helped me through a tough break up and helped me realize that I probably wasn’t truly in love after all. – @Gamer_lvlup #150

I can jam out to your music while it also resonates with me on a spiritual level. I love it! – @jjasso99 #082
